Youch plays ROCK MUSIC. It’s big, loud, and brash, with their debut self-titled EP propelled by Scott Snyder’s weighty riffs and blues-y soloing, backed by Mike Adashek’s melodic bass lines and rock solid drumming from Drew Stevens. The EP’s overall gnarly tone is offset by the gentle and touching “Infinite Between” – dedicated to another friend and local Chicago musician (and former bandmate of Snyder’s), gone too soon. The fuzzy and groovy “Whatsamatter4u” wraps things up with more of Snyder’s wry observations on the human race. Though just four songs in length, this EP lays out a serious case for more good heavy rock to come.

Bio:

Youch formed in 2021, as the brainchild of frontman, singer and guitarist Scott Snyder. Scott, a native of Pennsylvania, but lifelong transplant to Chicago has been quietly generating troves of music within the scene inspired by his progressive music upbringing for the last 40 years. He’s collaborated with likes of Florian Ophale (formerly of Jethro Tull) and Jimmy Waldo (Alcatrazz), releasing singles “Heavy Ink” and “Elementary My Dear”. 

Emerging from Chicago's diverse music scene, Youch delivers a blend of powerhouse drums, overdriven basslines, and Hendrix-inspired guitar riffs, all anchored by raw, emotive vocals. Their music serves as a reflection on the complexities of life, offering a compelling mix of wit and wisdom. Integrating the grit of Nirvana, the psychedelic soul of Trower, and the attitude of Zappa, Youch delivers a frenzied fusion of sonic exploration. And they rock too!

Youch released their debut self titled EP “Youch” in early 2022 and began performing in 2023 within the Midwest area. Recently, the group released the single “You’re in a Cult” along with accompanying music video from Chicago filmographer, Paul William Brennan (Labryinth Arts). 

Youch brings in drummer Drew Stevens (What It Felt Like, Alexslander) and bassist Mike Adashek (formerly Beaker, Surprise Round).

The group was featured on a live WZRD 88.3 radio performance and their debut EP was listed under best albums of 2023 by innerspyche.org.
